Where our commission comes from
- Every mutual fund scheme has a total expense ratio (TER), which covers the cost of running the fund.
- Each scheme has a regular plan and a direct plan. The regular plan's TER includes the distributor's commission, so it is higher than the direct plan's.
- We are paid a trail commission: a yearly percentage of the value of your investment, paid by the fund house from the scheme's expenses. SEBI rules don't allow upfront commissions.
- Nothing is deducted from your bank account or your units as a separate charge for us.
Scheme-wise commission, on request
- Commission rates are set by each fund house and differ from scheme to scheme.
- Before you invest, we'll tell you the commission we receive on any scheme you're considering through us.
- You can ask for this at any time, for any scheme you hold through us, by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- Your Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from CAMS or KFintech also shows the commission paid to your distributor for each scheme.
Direct plans
You can invest in direct plans yourself, without a distributor. They have a lower expense ratio, but don't include our app, reporting or support.
